“For the last year while receiving hormones delivered through pellet therapy, my grateful 72 year old body has received benefits both inside and out.  The arthritic pain in my spine and feet is gone.  My sleep is more consistently, sound.  I feel as if my reservoir of energy has been refilled and my sense of well being buoyed.  I am fortunate to receive treatment that is evidence
based from the office of Dr. Frazzetta.”

“Testosterone therapy has been an absolute life changer for me! I have my energy back and feel like my old self again. The most unexpected benefit for me has been a dramatic improvement in my severe dry eye problems. I couldn’t be happier!
Thank you Dr. Frazzetta!”

My name is Neal Platzer and I am retired, living in Montrose, CO. I lived almost 60 years of my life in the Houston TX area.

I have suffered from fatigue issues for over thirty years. It has been diagnosed by several national specialists as CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Immune Disorder). In my worst year, I was in bed or on the couch all day for over 250 days out of the year. I sold my small business, thinking it was stress, but no improvement. Also tried many alternative treatments to no lasting effect. In a casual conversation with a doctor in a waiting room, it was suggested that patients with my symptoms have shown improvements in a cooler, drier climate with clean air and water. I was living in Houston, and did make the move which seemed to help some over time. When I moved to Colorado, I bought an off-road vehicle to enjoy the backcountry because I thought I would never be able to go hiking.

Through a number of improbable events, I happened to make an appointment with Dr. Frazzetta in 2008, which I wasn’t too excited about at the time. One of the first things that she told me was not to expect a cure for CFIDS, because if she had that she could retire very rich. After some testing, she came up with a plan which was to focus on sleep, diet, exercise, and healthy interpersonal relationships. These helped, and although not a complete absence of fatigue days, I became able to more regularly hike and bike without immediate relapse. Before, a one hour hike could put me in bed for several days. Over the years while in Dr Frazzetta’s care, I have hiked, biked and snowshoed as much as 5 times a week, with occasional fatigue episodes per month. I have also been able to do some multi day backpacking and have summited five fourteeners (14,000+’).

Dr Frazzetta’s most recent addition to my treatment is the addition of testosterone pellets to keep my testosterone level at the high end of normal. I have been doing that for almost two years, with some additional improvement to my health. Most recently I had had a string of over 125 consecutive days without a fatigue spell, which has not occurred in over 30 years.  During the COVID-19 Stay at Home, I have experienced some not unexpected fatigue spells.Dr Frazzetta’s approach is that I, the patient, must be agreeable to and involved in the treatment plan. The patient is part of the treatment and must be a willing collaborator in the process to carry it out. Meeting Dr Frazzetta and having her as my primary care physician has been one of the most fortuitous events of my life.
